All printed photos will eventually fade; the black pigments fade through brown and the paper also ages to brown as well. Still, even this photo of the Sherman Fire Department (c.1905) has sufficient information that is recoverable to produce a good reproduction. The reprint, printed on acid-free photo paper, with care, will easily last another 100 years.
